AI and app color tools have made color analysis more accessible, but accessibility isn't the same as accuracy. These tools read pixels, but not people. They can't capture the subtle nuances of your natural coloring, the warmth or coolness of your undertone, or the unique contrast between your skin, hair, and eyes. Add in the variables of lighting, camera quality, and screen calibration, and the margin for error becomes significant. In many cases, AI results can point you in an entirely wrong direction.
Professional color draping works differently. By observing how color light reflects onto your skin in real time, I can assess the subtle qualities of your undertone, value, and intensity that no AI can reliably detect.

I use the 23-season color analysis framework developed by Karen Brunger at the International Image Institute. Rather than placing every person into one of four broad categories (Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter), the 23-season system recognizes that coloring exists on a spectrum and that true accuracy requires a more nuanced approach.
Within your broader seasonal family, I identify your specific sub-season, giving you a palette that is far more tailored and accurate than a general seasonal assignment. The result is a level of personalization that makes a real difference in how your colors work for you in everyday life. -
Yes, absolutely. Personal color analysis works for every skin tone, across the full spectrum of human coloring. The 23-season system was specifically designed to recognize and honor the incredible diversity of natural coloring, including the rich depth and complexity found across all ethnicities and skin tones. The principles of undertone, value, and intensity apply universally, and the draping process is just as revealing and accurate for deeper skin tones as it is for lighter ones.
Every person has a unique color story, and every person deserves to know it. -
It depends. If your previous analysis was conducted by a trained professional using the same framework, your results may be consistent. However, not all color analysis methods are created equal. The system, the training, the tools, and the experience of the analyst all play a significant role in the accuracy of your results.
If your previous result never quite clicked, if you have felt uncertain about your season, or if your analysis was done using photos, an app, or an online quiz, there is a good chance a professional in-person analysis could reveal something more accurate and more nuanced.
If you are curious about how my color analysis process may differ from the one that you had, I am always happy to have that conversation with you before you book. -
This is one of the most common concerns clients bring to their session, and it is completely understandable. Color is personal, and many of us have deep emotional attachments to certain colors. The good news is that your palette is far more expansive than you might expect. All palettes have versions of most colors and clients are often pleasantly surprised by the range and variety of colors within their season.
And if a color you love truly falls outside your palette? You can absolutely still wear it. Knowing your colors does not mean giving up the ones that bring you joy. It simply means understanding how best to wear them. A color that is not your best near your face might work beautifully in your accessories or your wardrobe in other ways.
Color analysis gives you the knowledge to use every color with intention, including the ones you love most.

Your home season is determined by the fixed underlying properties of your natural coloring and it remains consistent throughout your life. However, changes in hair color from natural greying, as well as shifts in skin overtone with aging can subtly influence how your palette is expressed. You may find that certain colors within your season become more or less flattering as your coloring evolves and/or your specific sub-season may shift.
For most clients, one session provides long-lasting clarity, with an occasional follow-up consultation to fine tune your palette as natural aging changes occur. -
Your color palette is a tool, not a rulebook. The goal of color analysis is to give you clarity and confidence, not to restrict your choices or dictate what you wear. Knowing your colors means you can make more informed decisions, but what you do with that knowledge is up to you!
That said, most clients find that once they understand why certain colors work for them and others do not, they naturally gravitate toward their palette. Not out of obligation, but because the difference is undeniable and wearing their colors feels good. You may still choose to wear colors outside your palette for any number of reasons, including personal preference, a special occasion, or simply because you love them. And that is completely valid.
Color analysis gives you the knowledge to choose with intention. What you do with it is always your choice. -
At the conclusion of your session, you will receive a curated digital color palette that is yours to keep and reference whenever you need it. This palette includes guidance on how to apply your colors to your wardrobe, makeup, and beauty choices.
For clients who would like a physical reference, a hand-held color swatch booklet is available as an optional add-on. Your palette is yours for life, and follow-up support is always available through my virtual follow-up and wardrobe edit services whenever you are ready to take the next step. -
